Shri Pankoj Singha Roy

Pankoj Singha Roy is a professional Bharatanatyam dancer. His love for dance started in childhood. He has received dance training from renowned dance gurus like Rama Vaidyanathan, Leela Samson, Dr. Saroja Vaidyanathan, and Shi Abhay Pal.

He is a former recipient of a national scholarship from the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, Government of India. Hasbeen awarded with 'Nritya Koumudhi'. He is a graded artist in Kolkata, Doordarshan. He has topped Bharatnatyam both in graduation and post-graduation.

Pankoj Singha Roy travelled to Europe as a key member of Dr. Saroja Vaidyanathan's team on behalf of the I.C.C.R. Government of India. He participated in the India-Bangladesh Maitri Utsav and World Dance Day celebrations held in Bangladesh. He further participated in many dance festivals in the country, conducted workshops in various Kendriya Vidyalayas on behalf of 'Routes to Roots' in collaboration with the Government of India to promote Indian art and culture. He is also a Bharatnatyam teacher and artist at Bickram Ghosh Academy of Performing Arts. He has participated as a guest artist in various theatrical productions at the National School of Drama. Associated with dance troupes like Ganesa Natyalaya, New Delhi, Mallari, and Kalyani. Many of the students have won many awards, like Jugal Shrimal Scholarships. His play 'Chaitanya' won many awards and garnered critical acclaim. Directed 'Jaya Taba Bichitra Ananda', a dance drama for Kolkata Doordarshan based on Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore's literature.
